Dietrich Strause is a London-based multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, composer, producer, and engineer with 15 years of experience.

He has produced studio recordings for release on Compass Records for Laura Cortese. Additionally, he has produced albums for new wave rocker David Champagne as well as collaborating on studio projects with Brian Joseph, Sam Kassirer, Shane Leonard, and Grammy Award winning producer and engineer Paul Q. Kolderie.

Dietrich has cowritten songs with artists including Rose Cousins, Laura Cortese and Ry Cavanaugh for Session Americana. He has written and produced music for Facebook (Meta) and has had his music featured on Stabucks’ Global Playlist.

Dietrich’s credits include horn arrangements for many albums including Darlingside’s 2023 release Everything is Alive and Rose Cousins’ JUNO Award winning albums Bravado and Conditions of Love Vol. 1.

As a touring performer he has supported and performed with artists including Anais Mitchell, Lake Street Dive, Aoife O’Donovan, Sarah Jarosz, Lori McKenna, and Sam Lee, and has been an official showcase performer at The Americana Fest in Nashville, TN and Folk Alliance International.

Dietrich has taught songwriting and music theory at the Passim School of Music & Miles of Music Camp.

Recently he wrote, produced, and mixed the theme music for the Basic Folk Podcast on the Bluegrass Situation Network. He is currently scoring a feature length documentary for Wicked Delicate Films.
